Qualifications

  • Class 1 Drivers license with Air brake endorsement
  • Experience with tractor-trailer, refrigerated and flat bed
  • Eligible to enter the US (Canadian citizen with a passport, Permanent Resident with a valid PR Card who can participate in the visa waiver program)
  • Up to date vaccinations
  • Pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test in compliance with DOT requirements

Job Duties

  • Transport product to and from destinations throughout the Western US from Vancouver Island
  • Follow required Hours of Service according to Canadian and American legislation using an e log system
  • Administer bills of lading and manually or electronically maintain logbooks in a timely manner
  • Perform pre-trip, en-route and post-trip inspection of vehicle systems
  • Ensure cargo is secured properly in accordance with safety requirements
  • Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
  • Communicate with dispatcher, other drivers and customers using communication devices
  • May perform emergency roadside repairs

Job Duties
Excavator Operator will be responsible the following job duties:

  • Must be proficient in digging around utilities, cutting grade, loading trucks, digging trenches and Bulk Excavation.
  • Perform inspections on a daily basis and report any repairs immediately.
  • Communicate effectively with crew via hand signals and radio communications.
  • Ensure a safe work environment for our people, clients, subcontractors, and the public by following all health and safety policies and wearing appropriate PPE

Pipelayer & Labourer

Finish Line Earth Works is a growing Civil Construction company based in the Westshore.

We have full-time positions available for experienced Pipe Layers and Laborers to help us meet current and upcoming projects.

Pipe Layers and Laborers play a crucial role in the successful completion of Earth Works projects.   You will be involved in every phase of the construction process and will be responsible for such things as the operation and maintenance of compaction equipment, pipe-laying and site preparation and excavation.

You must be willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions and must be physically fit. Experience working in civil construction is a plus.

Duties & Responsibilities

Complete & assist in physical labor on site, capable of lifting 50lbs
Actively participate in regular cleaning sites, loading & unloading materials, and removing hazards
Assist field staff and provide support when needed
Install and repair sanitary and storm water sewer structures, water servicing and pipe systems
Trenching for hydro, telephone and other communication systems
Site preparation for concrete and paving preparations
Lay out pipe routes, following written instructions or blueprints and coordinate layout with supervisors
Check slopes for conformance to requirements, using levels or lasers
Safety and efficiently operate equipment on site
Report any/all unsafe work, incidents and/or concerns to Supervisor and/or Site Superintendent
Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner
Maintain a safe workplace by engaging in and implementing safe work practices.
Communicate with Foremen and/or Site Superintendent to ensure a clear understanding of work and expectations

Experience & Skills

Class 5 driver's license
Ability to do strenuous physical labour & other physically demanding duties
Ability to work independently & as part of a team
Self-starter & motivated to take initiative on tasks
Strong communication
Punctuality & reliability
Experience in civil construction (1 year preferred)
